Due to the developments in Nijmegen-Noord, the current transformer station, which supplies electricity here, was at maximum capacity. Many homes and facilities have been built in this area in a short time. A wind farm has been built and a number of wind turbines and solar meadows are planned. Moreover, the number of homes in this part of Nijmegen is expanding further, with approximately 3,000 to 5,000 homes.
TenneT and Liander have therefore, in consultation with the municipality of Nijmegen, built a new transformer station in Nijmegen-Noord. The new station can admit (business) customers who have registered and received a quote from their grid operator to the electricity grid in the course of 2023.

Design primary installations including steel structures and construction
BOSING has been commissioned to execute a complete primary design, including steel structures, lightning protection and earthing grid/earthing. In addition, BOSING was allowed to deliver and install clamps and busbars/conductors. This involved a total of approximately 650 clamps, approximately 400m of busbars and approximately 900m of flexible conductors.

Delivery
Bosing was able to carry out this work within the agreed schedule. A very nice and challenging project to work on. We thank Volker Energy Solutions for the assignment and good cooperation and look forward to realizing other projects that we are now working on together.
